Heta Priiki

Heta Priiki studied the piano and the violoncello at the College of Music and at the High School of Art and Music in Savonlinna.  In 1986 she continued studying the piano at the Turku Conservatory with Elzbieta Guzek-Soini and chamber music with Tero Airas and graduated in 1991.  She also attended several master courses including those with Eero Heinonen, Matti Raekallio and Erik T. Tawastjerna.

Heta Priiki has played as a soloist with the Turku-Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lohja City Orchestra.  She has an enthusiasm for chamber music which she practices actively in various ensembles.  In 1989 she reached the second prize in the national Chamber Music Competition for Piano Trios in Turku.  She worked as an accompanist and as a lead pianist at the Lohja Summer Courses for Singers in 1995-1996 and at the Porvoo College of Music in 2001-2003.

Heta has a lot of pedagogical experience. In 1991-1994 she taught the piano at the Turku Conservatory and currently she is employed as a piano teacher and an accompanist at the Länsi-Uusimaa College of Music.  She has taught small children as well as young talented students aiming at professional studies.  Her pupils have actively participated in the multi-artistic projects organized by the college of music in co-operation with the local dance and art schools.
